LuckyStrike
Privacy Policy
LuckyStrike is a bowling score and stats tracker for iPhone and Android, made by Stuck at Home LLC ("we", "us"). This page explains what the app collects, where it goes, and how to get rid of it. We've tried to write it the way we'd want to read it: plainly, and without any surprises further down.
The short version
- Your games are yours. We store them so they survive a new phone. We don't sell them, and we don't use them for advertising.
- No ads. There's no advertising SDK in the app, and it doesn't collect your device's advertising ID.
- No location, no contacts. The app never asks for either.
- An account is optional. You start out anonymous. Adding an email is only for backing up your account.
- AI Coach only sends what you ask about, and only when you ask.
- You can delete everything yourself in the Android app, or by emailing us from any device. See Delete your LuckyStrike data.
What we collect, and who handles it
| What | Examples | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your bowling data | Games (pins frame by frame, scores, dates, notes, lane, mood), leagues, tournaments, equipment (balls, alleys, oil patterns) and spare-drill attempts | Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), United States | To save your history and keep it safe if you switch phones |
| Account details | A random user ID; your email address, only if you add one; your sign-up date | Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore | To keep your data tied to you, and to let you sign back in |
| App usage | Which screens and features are used, a random app-instance ID, device model, OS version and app version | Google Analytics for Firebase | To find what's broken and decide what to build next |
| Crash reports (iPhone) | What the app was doing when it crashed, device model and OS version | Firebase Crashlytics | To fix crashes |
| Purchases | Purchase history, subscription status, an app user ID | Apple App Store or Google Play, and RevenueCat | To unlock Premium and restore it on a new device |
| AI Coach requests (Premium) | The game or spare-drill attempts you ask about, plus your bowler profile (name, hand, averages) | Our Firebase Cloud Functions, then Anthropic (Claude) | To write the coaching summary you asked for |
Google (Firebase), RevenueCat and Anthropic handle this data to provide their services to us, under their own terms. Their privacy policies: Firebase, RevenueCat, Anthropic.
What stays on your phone
Your bowler profile (name, hand, averages), your settings and any AI Coach summaries you've already generated are stored on your device. They leave it only in one case: when you ask AI Coach for a summary, your bowler profile is sent along so the advice fits you (see below). Uninstalling the app removes them.
Your account
When you first open LuckyStrike, Firebase Authentication creates an anonymous account for you — a random ID, with no name and no email attached. Your bowling data is saved under it.
If you like, you can add an email address and password to back up that account and sign in on another device. Firebase handles the password; we never see it. On iPhone, the app also uses an anonymous identifier provided by iCloud to file your data. It isn't your Apple ID or your email address.
AI Coach (Premium)
AI Coach writes a short coaching summary of a game or a spare-drill session. When you tap for one, the app sends that game (frames, score, strikes, spares, lane, mood and the ball you used) or those drill attempts, together with your bowler profile (name, hand, averages), to our Firebase Cloud Functions. The function passes it to Anthropic's Claude API, and Anthropic processes it to generate the response under its commercial API terms.
Our function doesn't save your request. The summary comes back to the app and is kept on your phone so we don't have to ask again. Nothing is sent to AI Coach unless you ask for a summary.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to count things: which screens get opened, which features get used, where people get stuck. It's keyed to a random app-instance ID, not to your name or email. Google uses your connection's IP address to estimate a rough country or region for these reports.
Analytics doesn't use an advertising ID: on Android we've switched advertising-ID collection and ad-personalization signals off, and on iPhone the app never asks to track you. It's not used for advertising, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Purchases
LuckyStrike Premium is a subscription sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles the payment, so your card details and billing address never reach us.
We use RevenueCat to keep track of subscriptions. It receives your purchase history, your subscription status and an app user ID, which lets the app unlock Premium and restore it on a new device. It doesn't receive your card details.
To cancel a subscription, use the App Store or Google Play. Deleting your LuckyStrike account doesn't cancel it.
What we don't do
- We don't show ads or include any advertising SDK.
- We don't collect your advertising ID, location or contacts.
- We don't sell personal data, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We don't look through your games. We'd only open your records if you asked us to, for example to help with a support question.
Security
Data travels between the app and our providers over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and it's stored on Google's Firebase infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount we collect small, and we'll tell you if a breach ever affects your data.
How long we keep it, and how to delete it
We keep your bowling data and account until you delete them.
- In the Android app: go to Settings → Account → Manage Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and everything stored with it: games, leagues, tournaments, equipment, spare-drill attempts, your profile record and your login.
- By email (any platform, including iPhone): write to contact@stuckathomellc.com with your account email or the User ID shown on the app's Manage Account screen. We'll delete your data within 30 days and confirm by email.
Analytics events and crash reports aren't tied to your account. They expire automatically on Google's retention schedule. Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep their own purchase records. The full details are on Delete your LuckyStrike data.
Children
LuckyStrike isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal data, and to object to how it's used. Wherever you live, you can ask us for any of these by emailing contact@stuckathomellc.com. You don't need to explain why, it's free, and we'll never treat you differently for asking. If we need to confirm a request is really yours, we'll ask you to reply from your account email or send your User ID.
You can also correct or delete your games yourself, any time, inside the app.
Where your data is processed
We're a US company, and our providers (Google Firebase, RevenueCat and Anthropic) process data in the United States. If you use LuckyStrike from outside the US, your data is transferred there.
Changes to this policy
If LuckyStrike starts collecting something new, or uses data in a new way, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top.
